Fast 24: 15th Jan- 4th Feb

For the seeker who hungers for clarity, the inquisitive who desire purpose, the curious who crave understanding of their divine inheritance... Jesus has made it all available to you!

Jesus spoke of a Kingdom of opposites. The humble exalted, the last first, losing your life to save it, giving to receive and the servant the true leader. 

This year, as many hold back, bunker down and avoid change, they miss out on the blessing made available to those who would step out boldly in faith and seek Him out. The flood gates are open, will you seek Him?

We believe God has more for you than you could ever ask, think or imagine! In 2024, its time to walk into it!

As with any kind of growth, the correct environment is essential. Our spiritual growth is dependent on growing in a place of expectant faith!  God has already given us everything we need to move into this new year with “God”fidence and its up to us to take a hold of it! As we spend time intentionally in prayer, we refocus on the things that really matter.

21 Days of Prayer and fasting is a great place to start believing Jesus for all that He has for you. As you are intentional about seeking Him first, He will move on your behalf like never before. You will start to see the power of prayer impact your relationships, work, family, church, and every area of your life.

21 days of PRAYER & FASTING

21 Days of Prayer and Fasting – you can do it!!

City Life Church encourages our church to pray & fast for 21 days in January 2024. 

This is part of  a season of focused prayer as a church family. 

As a church we will be doing a 21 day Daniel fast (Selective Fast) together from 15th of January to 4th of February 2024, culminating in our Vision Sunday on the 4th of February. Whether you are doing the Daniel Fast or a different type of fast, we would love for you to be part of 21 Days of Prayer. We will be praying into 3 main areas:

1) "Deep in devotion"- the pursuit of the Presence of Jesus...

2) "Believing for Breakthrough"- bringing our individual needs before the Lord

3) "faith for the future"- aligning ourselves with Gods plan for

-our families

-our nation

TYPES of fasts

Your personal fast should present a level of challenge, but it is very important to know your body, your options, and most importantly, to seek God in prayer and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do.

1) COMPLETE fast

In this type of fast, you drink only liquids, typically water with light juices as an option.


This type of fast involves removing certain elements from your diet. One example of a selective fast is the Daniel Fast, during which you remove meat, sweets, and bread from your diet and consume water and juice for fluids and fruits and vegetables for food.

3) PARTIAL fast

This fast is sometimes called the “Jewish Fast” and involves abstaining from eating any type of food in the morning and afternoon. This can either correlate to specific times of the day, such as 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, or from sunrise to sunset.

4) SOUL fast

This fast is a great option if you do not have much experience fasting food, have health issues that prevent you from fasting food, or if you wish to refocus certain areas of your life that are out of balance. For example, you might choose to stop using social media, playing video games, or watching television for the duration of the fast and then increase your time in prayer and reading the word.
